Ski Samoens - Enjoy our winter wonderland

Samoens lies at the foot of the Grand Massif ski area, one of the biggest ski areas in the Alps with a huge selection of runs and a superb snow record. Jump on the super-efficient Grand Massif Express lift and you’ll be whisked from the village up to Samoens 1600 in less than 8 minutes, ready for the day’s skiing.

From scenic greens to testing blacks, the Grand Massif really is a ski area offering something for all abilities. Seasoned intermediates will appreciate the sheer variety offered by the 51 reds and 53 blues. Novices will enjoy finding their feet and learning their turns in a user-friendly beginners’ area, before taking their pick of the 15 greens. For the more experienced and intrepid, there are no less than 14 blacks as well as extensive off-piste opportunities. There is also a dedicated children’s ski area.

For snowboarders, as well as all the on piste action you can handle, there’s plenty of exciting off piste on offer. If airtime is your thing, check out the three snow parks with bumps, jumps, rails and tables for a wide range of abilities.

For something a little different, there are extensive cross-country ski trails. Cross-country skiing is a great way to exercise and explore the mountains in winter.

Snow sure

Thanks to its geographical location in the north of Haute Savoie, the Grand Massif enjoys abundant, regular snowfalls throughout the season. The area is well known for the quality of the snow in spring. With 80% of the slopes north-facing, the snow tends to lie for longer and remain in good condition.

NEW for the 2014/2015 Season

As with every year in the Grand Massif, there are some fantastic improvements for this winter season.

Despite an incredible snow record, there has been a lot of effort this summer on extending the vast network of snow cannons (notably on the lower slopes of Morillon) and widening of pistes in popular areas.

Take a look at the historical snow reports and current snow forecast.
