This winter season, we are looking to find the following people to add to our team:
- An experienced Chalet Manager to oversee all of our properties.
- Two Chalet Hosts – one to work in La Grande Ourse and La Petite Ourse and the other to work in the Chalet La Roche properties.
- Two Professional Chefs – one to work in La Grande and La Petite Ourse and the other to work in the La Roche properties.
Our Properties
During winter months we offer catered, self catered ski and snow shoeing holidays in our accommodation. La Grande and La Petite Ourses (7 bedrooms in total) are our flagship chalets and are only offered on a catered basis. Chalet and Apartment La Roche (6 bedrooms in total) are offered as either catered or self catered.
The Roles
Chalet Manager
The Chalet Manager role is central to the running of our chalets. In addition to being a point of contact for guests and being responsible for delivering the high standards in the chalets, you will be required to manage the operational elements of the chalets (e.g. checking laundry in and out, greeting guests and co-ordinating changeovers).
The Chalet Manager responsibilities include:
- Ensuring a relaxed homely feel to the chalets throughout the guests’ whole holiday.
- Co-ordination and supervision of the team during daily duties and weekly change-overs.
- Cleaning and maintaining high chalet standards.
- Looking after the guests, assisting with queries and ensuring that they have the best holiday possible.
- Management of linens (check-out/check-in and delivery) and laundry.
- Chalet stock control (e.g. cleaning products, bar stock, wine.)
- Co-ordination and serving of meals (dinner, breakfast & kiddies tea.)
- Supporting the chalet chef in the kitchen as necessary.
- Running the weekly team meeting.
- Management of the honesty bar.
Are you all of the following?
- Somebody who is conscientious and enthusiastic.
- A holder of a full clean driving licence.
- Highly experienced in chalet management.
- Extremely organised, prepared and calm.
- Experienced in supervising and co-ordinating a team.
- Somebody willing to go the extra mile when necessary.
- An excellent communicator.
Professional Chefs
Our food is something that helps us stand out from the crowd and we set high standards in what we think chalet food should be like. We take great pride in our chefs and we always look to employ professional chefs and ideally those who have previous experience of working in chalets.
Responsibilities for our Chalet Chefs include:
- Creating a six day menu plan including cooked breakfast options, afternoon cakes and four course evening meal.
- Prepare and serve six evening meals and six breakfasts.
- You will be required to cook breakfast for the guests in the main chalet and provide ingredients for the host to cook in the second chalet or apartment as required.
- Baking of cakes daily and provision of cake or biscuits for day off.
- Completing the weekly shopping list for the chalets, shopping, and assisting in the unpacking and correct storage of weekly supplies.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and order of the food storage areas.
- Weekly deep clean of the kitchen and maintaining daily hygiene standards.
- Preparing packed lunches when requested.
- Taking part in other aspects of the weekly changeover of the chalet where necessary.

- Experienced in cooking excellent quality food professionally.
- Committed to maintaining consistently high standards of food.
- Experienced in health and safety plus food hygiene.
- Familiar with working in a chalet kitchen environment.
- Creative and flexible in menu planning.
- Experienced in stock control, purchasing and budget control professionally.
- Good at working in a team.
Chalet Host
Our Chalet Hosts are the main point of contact for our guests so we’re looking for people who are friendly, approachable and who love to be helpful. You’ll work with our Chalet Chef, the Chalet Manager and the business owners so good communication and organisational skills are key.
Responsibilities for our Chalet Hosts include:
- Creating a welcoming and relaxing environment in the chalet, ensuring the guests are cared for and their needs met.
- Daily light clean of the chalet bedrooms and communal areas.
- Laying tables for breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meal, to include children’s high tea when required.
- Assist the chef in hosting the evening meal and serving the guests.
- Clearing away from meal times and supporting the chef in maintaining daily hygiene standards in the kitchen.
- Care of chalet linens, including checking in and out all items sent to the laundry.
